To align the content horizontally, do the following:

1.Select the text that you want to align.

2.Execute one of the commands below:

Horizontal alignment is performed within the indents set for the paragraph being edited.

If the text in the cell is rotated, the horizontal alignment is performed according to its position: the text is moved relative to the upper and lower borders.

Vertical alignment is only applied to the table contents. The commands are displayed on the Toolbar are available when the cursor is placed in a table or the entire table/table element is selected.

To align the contents in a table vertically:

1.Select the element you want to align:

•To align the contents of a cell, select it or place the cursor in it.

•To align the contents of several cells, columns, or rows, select these table items.

•To align the contents of an entire table, select the entire table.

2.On the Toolbar, select the Paragraph section and click .

3.Click one of the following buttons:

Align Text to Top: Aligns the contents along the top edge of the cell.

Align Text to Middle: Centers the contents in the cell.

Align Text to Bottom: Aligns the contents along the bottom edge of the cell.

Line spacing is the space between each line in a paragraph. The default spacing for all text is 1. MyOffice Text allows you to change the line spacing for all text, as well as for individual paragraphs. You can use predefined line spacing options or set your own.

If you select a predefined value, the line spacing is equal to the product between the font size and the specified value. For example, if you use 12 pt font and double line spacing for the paragraph, the line spacing in the paragraph is 24 pt (12 pt x 2).

To set a predefined line spacing, do the following:

1.Select the text fragment you want to format.

2.On the Toolbar, select the Paragraph section and click the button which displays the current line spacing value. For example, .

3.In the list that expands, select a required value.

To set a custom line spacing, do the following:

1.Select the text fragment you want to format.

2.On the Toolbar, select the Paragraph section and click the button which displays the current line spacing value. For example, .

3.In the list that expands, click Custom Line Spacing.

4.In the Custom Line Spacing window that appears, set the method for calculating the interval manually, using one of the following parameters:

•Multiply: Sets the line spacing, which increases or reduces according to the specified multiplier. The multiplier 1.00 corresponds to a single line spacing. Select the multiplier greater than 1.00 to increase the spacing. For example, setting a multiplier to 1.2 will increase the space by 20%. Select the multiplier of less than 1.00 to reduce the spacing. For example, setting a multiplier to 0.7 will reduce the spacing by 30%.

•Exact: Sets a fixed spacing equal to the value specified in the field to the right. The value is expressed in points (pt). Unlike the predefined spacing, the fixed spacing is not changed when the font is reduced/increased.

•At Least: Sets the minimum allowed spacing, equal to the value specified in the field on the right. The value is measured in points (pt). If the lines contain characters of different heights (for example, superscript and subscript characters) or different font sizes, the value of the spacing between the lines is calculated automatically to fit the larger text.

4.In the field to the right, set the numeric value for the selected parameter.

5.Click OK.

The character spacing allows you to set the spacing between the characters being entered into the text. You can choose between the following options: condensed, normal, and expanded character spacing.

The figure below shows examples of how each of the spacings is displayed:

You can select the character spacing type using the Command menu or the Toolbar.

To change the character spacing type using the Command menu, follow these steps:

1.Select the text you want to change the character spacing of.

2.In the Command menu, select Format > Font > Character Spacing.

3.In the opened sub-menu, select the desired character spacing type.

To change the character spacing type using the Toolbar:

1.Select the text you want to change the character spacing of.

2.On the Toolbar, select the Font section and click .

3.Select the desired character spacing type:

Condensed

Normal

Expanded

You can customize the spacings and indents for paragraphs to structure the document.

To change the settings of one paragraph, place the cursor anywhere in that paragraph or select the entire paragraph. To change the settings of several paragraphs, select all the paragraphs you want to adjust.

To adjust spacings and indents for the selected paragraphs:

1.On the Toolbar, select the Paragraph section and click Paragraph Settings.

2.In the window that appears, enter the required numeric values for the following parameters:

•First Line: The distance from the left margin of the document to the first line in the paragraph.

•Left Indent: The distance from the left margin of the document to the paragraph.

•Right Indent: The distance from the right margin of the document to the paragraph.

•Before: The distance between the current and previous paragraph.

•After: The distance between the current and next paragraph.

To quickly increase the paragraph indent by 1.25 inch, use one of the following steps:

•In the Command menu, click Format, point to Alignment > Increase Indent.

•On the Toolbar, select the Paragraph section and click Increase Indent.

To quickly decrease a paragraph indent by 1.25 inch, follow one of the steps below:

•In the Command menu, click Format, point to Alignment > Decrease Indent.

•On the Toolbar, select the Paragraph section and click Decrease Indent.
